On 17–18 June 2025, the workshop "EU-funded research and innovation for organic farming" took place in Brussels, bringing together representatives of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects, as well as policymakers from various European Commission services.

The event demonstrated that EU-funded research and innovation projects are addressing the unique challenges of organic farming and helping the wider EU farming sector become more sustainable. Participants exchanged research results, discussed ongoing and planned activities, and identified concrete outcomes that are useful for policymaking. The workshop also aimed to foster collaboration between projects and strengthen links with policymakers, ensuring that research feeds directly into future policy decisions.

The meeting was a success, featuring lively discussions, knowledge sharing, and valuable networking opportunities. Among the present projects was the OH-FINE project, which shared its expertise and recommendations on key aspects of organic farming. Participants expressed hope that the insights gained would inspire and inform their future work.
