Educational Initiative Agroforestry II

The aim of the project is to develop, design, organize, and implement a range of suitable offerings for farmers (webinars, best-practice visits, management seminars, symposium, information material,...) before and during the implementation of the complex topic of agroforestry systems (AFS), with a particular focus on the new ÖPUL measure "Agroforestry strips."

Collaboration with OH-FINE

Through their partnership, Educational Initiative Agroforestry II and OH-FINE are combining their strengths to promote sustainable and climate-resilient farming systems.

Key elements of collaboration:

  • A webinar was already organized and conducted jointly in March 2026 (Understanding Agroforestry).
  • A field trial on agroforestry is being conducted as part of the OH-FINE project (microclimate measurements in an older agroforestry system in the arable farming region of eastern austria), and the results will be presented at a field day (1st Oct 2026). In addition to the expertise provided by the educational project, the field day of OH-FINE will be complemented by the educational project through visits to additional agroforestry farms.

This collaboration enhances the scalability, coherence and long-term impact of both projects, resulting in a consistent approach to sustainable agriculture.
