OrganicClimateNet
The OrganicClimateNET Project acts as a model for the European organic sector to enable farmers to integrate climate farming, thereby enhancing their capacity to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The project connects 250 organic farms across 12 EU countries to develop financially viable climate strategies. By fostering collaboration and providing tailored support, the project seeks to establish a strong foundation for climate-resilient organic farming.
Approach
- Conduct individual carbon assessments for participating farms.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer learning through trained advisors in 24 local hubs.
- Develop and share over 100 knowledge materials and a decision-support toolbox.
- Provide data for policymaking to integrate climate mitigation and adaptation into organic farming.
- Bridge mature and developing organic regions across 14 countries to reinforce sustainable practices.
Collaboration with OH-FINE
The partnership between OrganicClimateNET and OH-FINE leverages the strengths of both projects to advance sustainable, climate-resilient farming systems.
Key elements of collaboration:
- Exchange and contextualization of technical outputs and knowledge materials.
- Coordinated dissemination and exploitation activities aligned with Horizon Europe requirements.
- Joint participation in sector events to enhance visibility and impact.
- Exploration of methodological alignment and future cooperation opportunities.
- Contributions to policy discussions and initiatives supporting EU Green Deal and CAP objectives.
This collaboration enhances the scalability, coherence, and long-term impact of both projects, fostering a unified approach to sustainable agriculture and climate action.
